Ever got a CD/DVD lying around that’s scratched and pretty much unusable? Here’s how to fix it and make a copy while you can. (Links at bottom, please read directions carefully) Things you will need: A microfiber cloth or soft (preferably 100% cotton) cloth to avoid furtherscratching and for the polishing Isopropyl Alcohol/Rubbing Alcohol (Optional) to clean the CD/DVD to see if that’s the problem Brasso or some other kind of gentle metal/silver/jewelry polish. (In this video I use Weiman brand Royal Sterling Silver Polish I got at Target for .89 with tax.) If your using Brasso do it in an open/well ventilated area and avoid breathing in the fumes, it contains fricken ammonia. 5-30 minutes of free time/patience A non-slip mat (Optional), If you don’t have this just hold the CD from the outer edges or with a finger through the middle, DO NOT touch the CD. A CD/DVD/Blu-Ray/HD-DVD or some other mostly-polycarbonate disc that is skipping/damaged/unusable and needs cleaning and polishing Procedure: 1. Prepare your items and lay them in front of you. 2. Put the disc on the mat (if you have one) or hold it, take your microfiber cloth and douse a small portion in rubbing alcohol or run it under some warm water in the sink and rub it gently with your finger from the center outward to the edge, you can even use window cleaner or windex. 3. shop.ebay.com ~~ This is a BULK PACKAGE OF 36 PREMIUM MICROFIBER CLEANING AUTO CLOTH TOWELS 16X16, thats only .55 each! ~~ I personally love microfiber. It’s wonderful. You can use it for just about anything. Works great around the home and office. Use in and around the shower, bathtub, RV, boat, van or car. Excellent on all glass – doesn’t streak! These towels are washable and get better the more you use them. At first I thought, “It’s just a towel–what’s the big deal about a MICROfiber?” But these work great! I use them to take off wax, to dress the interior of my car, to clean the windows, etc… They are especially helpful as that final step in the car detailing process: you don’t want any excess wax on the exterior that might ruin your finish and you don’t want any streaks on the glass–these are great to go over the whole vehicle one last time to get it really clean and shiny. And they won’t leave lint or “fuzzies” behind like a towel does. ~~~ COMPARE TO SIMILIAR ITEMS FOR .99 + SHIPPING + TAX ~~~ WOW, JUST A FEW FEATURES: Polishes, Buffs, and Shines Ultra-Soft 16″ x 16″ Large size, 31″ x 18″ x 33″Cleans While it Dries Cleans Car without Chemicals Removes Excess Wax Without Scratching Streak Free Clean Up Lint Free Good for Exterior, RIMS, Interior

@Riddler95 exactly
5000 grit wet dry sandpaper gets them right out kid…I fixed all my old ass porn videos with it
@SCORNDOGGMELACH If it looks better the way you see it then the laser can read it better.
3 TIMES YOU SAY LEAVE A LITTLE POLISH ON, but dont say why. So …. why?
you need a drill kid. polishing is time consuming to remove deep scratch.

@ant0tr0n rayon and propylene, so I don’t think so.
@krismagician Probably, I don’t polish discs anymore because I rarely ever use them.
your polishing technique isn’t right. you need to polish from the inside to the outside to prevent extra damage
@ant0tr0n Ethyl or isopropyl alcohol. They’re for cleaning.
wait, does it HAVE to be rubbing alcohol or can it be peroxyde.
is the shammwow a micro fiber cloth
@TheAppleGirl100 It does. It’s important to be careful or you could make things worse. If you just want the files or whatever from the disc coat the bottom in a thin layer of petroleum jelly and wipe up enough just to leave some to fill in the scratches. Make an image of it with Imgburn and then burn yourself another disc.
It might take a couple polishes to get good results, but I recommend that you back up the disc or get a professional job done from commercial equipment if you want 90%+.
so does it work?
@Masterjohn360 It works, you just have to use the right polish and be careful that you don’t scratch the disc even more. With enough polishing you can get out even moderately deep scratches, but in some cases it’s just best to have it done professionally.
does anyone know it works for sure
@MrSolathan Backup the bus there MrSolathan, whatever the fuck that means. my 12 year old daughter posted that comment not me. Sorry to the person who posted this video, you do have a clue.
You are GAY
shut up
@ramathorn2112 dont be a fag man. this guy knows wtf he’s talking about.
@emilm uh you need to replace the PS3 laser with one that will read the copied disc because there are intentional bad sectors in the discs so you will need a special laser which usually costs $125 for installation and the laser itself. yes you will need to send off your PS3 for the installation MAKE SURE YOU USE A AUTHORIZED SONY SERVICE CENTER OTHERWISE YOUR WARRANTY IS INVALIDATED AND UR SCREWED.
you know what your doing man… good job.
your such a RETARD!no one wants to see you and your mustache TALK the WHOLE TIME!! Just show a vid of u cleaning the disc…..
