What is the part on your window that pulls back the latch so you can open your (home) windows inward?

Question by carverbrittanys: What is the part on your window that pulls back the latch so you can open your (home) windows inward?
OK, I need to replace the little plastic part that pulls back the latches on each side of the window so that they tip inward. You would tip the window inward to clean, and I need to know what that little part is called that pulls the latches inward to release the window. Boy, I sound like an idiot. Better yet, where could I buy them?

Tilt latch. I believe you would have to go some place where they sell that type of window.

They are called tilt latches. Depending on the brand of window you have, they can be replaced. Some window companies are not in business anymore, or if you got your windows at Home Depot, they will not sell replacement parts. Your best bet is to take the part you need as a sample to a window and door company, they may be able to help you. The best place to get the parts is through a company called C.R. Laurence, but unfortunately they do not sell to the general public, they only sell to window and door companies
