Question by ozichick1: With so many household cleaning products, it’s very confusing.?
What are the basic products I should have in my cleaning cupboard, and tools? And what is the perfect way to clean window glass?
Best answer:
Answer by Puddleglum
For kitchen:
Dish detergent
rags
ammonia
mop- don’t get a swiffer or anything like that, old fashioned mops are the best kind.
broom
dustpan
scrub brush
For bathroom:
Glass cleaner (If you have mirrors or windows)
rags
scrub brush
paper towels
bleach powder (such as A-jax or Bar Keeper’s Friend)
Peroxide
Living room:
wood furniture polish
rags
You can keep all this stuff in one closet, I just put it in that order because you may need more than one of some items like scrub brushes.
Some glass cleaner and paper towels should work for the windows, don’t use rags, they smear.

I like to buy a glass and surface cleaner( non-toxic) and something for floors. otherwise broom, dustpan, vacuum, cleaning cloths or Paper towels.
Those answers are great. I would only add The Works from the dollar stores for the toilet bowl, Mean Green from the dollar stores fore pre-wash and grease removal, vinegar for windows, and use newspapers instead of paper towels to wash the windows. These products are all I have.
I know what Oprah would say – She would refer you to Basic H2. It is a product by Shaklee and is included among their Get Clean products. Oprah has had this stuff on her shows once every month for the last 4 months. It is green, non-toxic, biodegradable, etc. That Basic H2…you can use as a window & mirror cleaner and a degreaser and for all the surfaces of the house….it does like EVERYTHING!! We even have recipes for using it as bug repelant, an alternative to miricle grow for plants, and more – its crazy! So, you want to simplify everything? We get ours online: http://www.shaklee.net/healththatworks/prodHou
